I WRITE STORIES, MAKE ART & CURATE SPACES
THAT BRING PEOPLE CLOSER TOGETHER

ABOUT ME

I double-majored in Environmental Engineering and International Development at University College London (UCL). After working for four years in the conflict resolution field and kickstarting a PeaceTech startup, I left my technical role and entered a new chapter: that of visual storytelling, book writing and creative self-expression. I aim to help organizations and individuals communicate complex concepts and stories in simple drawings, and increase awareness and empathy to one another.

I have recently collaborated with organizations operating in Syria to create illustrations and animations that tell an honest and cohesive stories of the reality on the ground. I am also working with emerging labs at MIT to explain new fields of study being born on the blockchain and crypto space through simple drawings. I have illustrated books for people of all ages on lessons learned by a successful entrepreneur who moved from the city into the woods; on finding something truly beautiful and then letting it go; and captured the life and values of inspiring grandparents so that their journey and footprint stay in the world long after they are gone.

I am looking to collaborate with those who are willing to think outside of the box and rethink ways in which we can communicate complex and impactful topics and events in simple and sincere stories. If this resonates with you, drop me a line at me@virginialonso.com. I look forward to connecting!
